RSVP
The first rule is to always RSVP to an invitation even if you can’t make it. Not responding is seen as complete ignorance and the hosts will strike you off the list never sending out an invitation again. This also applies if you plan to attend as the hosts need to make sure the right ratio of people arrive for everyone to have a good time.
Arrive on Time
Punctuality is crucially important for a swinging event, as turning up late when things are already in full swing (pardon the pun) can throw spanners in the works as the hosts try to find a place for you to fit in. You may even be asked to leave as your late arrival could interrupt others.
Have Respect
You may consider yourself the catch of the century however this will not endear you to others; personality makes people popular at swinging parties as other party goers want to feel the trust and respect from the other participant. Have respect for every guest along with your hosts, arrogance and aloofness will only ensure you’re never invited again.
Adhere to the Dress Code
You will want to wear something comfortable although try to resist taking baggy pyjamas! If there’s a theme, have a role play outfit to hand, or take sex toys to enhance your play. A silky slip under your clothes or some flattering underwear can be all you need.
Be Clean
Show respect for others by making sure you’re well groomed and scrubbed, including oral hygiene. Poor body odour or bad breath can make you stand out for all the wrong reasons. Some people like to take a travel care package of body spray, toothbrush, toothpaste and wet wipes so they can freshen up soon after arrival.
Say No
You should always enjoy yourself and you will only do this if you feel OK about saying no to activities that you’re not comfortable with. Seasoned swingers understand not to pursue the matter and they don’t expect explanations as they respect your rights. Agreeing to an activity that makes you feel awkward will only serve to leave you with embarrassing memories after the event.
Many of you have asked what to bring to a party, so here are some hints:
Parties are a lot of fun but if it’s your first party you might want to know what to bring or what to wear
Condoms: We’ll have condoms at the party but they will be “regular” ones, if you need larger ones or have allergies you should bring your own just to be safe.
Wash Kit: We’re going to this party to get dirty but we usually want to go home clean so bring along what you’ll need to freshen up afterward or during the party
Sexy Undies: This is for guys and girls. Usually at a party the ladies will head up first to get ready and sometimes will change into sexy undies. But the guys can wear whatever makes them feel sexy and comfortable once we get up to the room.
Unsexy Undies: Once you’ve explored your fantasies you’ll find the sexy undies are not so sexy for the taxi home, so it’s a good idea to have a chance to be ready.
Dressing Gown: The clothes can come off at the parties but you will probably want to take regular breaks. If you’re not comfortable sitting around nude or getting fully dressed in between encounters it is a good idea to bring a gown or robe.
Toys: Toys make play even more fun. If you want to use something specific please bring it along. Remember, don’t use someone else’s toys without permission and don’t use your toys on someone without asking.
Drinks / Snacks: We will have some drinks and snacks to help you keep your energy up. But if you want something specific or absolutely have to eat a chocolate swiss roll after sex, please remember to bring it along. If you’re bringing alcohol please make sure you bring it in a discrete bag.
As newcomers embark on their journey into the enticing world of swinging, it's understandable that the unique language and terminology used by seasoned individuals can seem overwhelming at times. We believe that clear communication and understanding are essential for fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. To assist you in navigating the lifestyle with confidence and ease, we have compiled a list of common terms used in the swingers' scene:
Upside Down Pineapple: The upside down pineapple is a symbol to other members of the community that you might be into the swinging lifestyle. Watch out for this in someone’s shopping basket or on their desk at work!
Swingers: Individuals or couples who engage in consensual non-monogamous activities, such as partner swapping, group sex, or attending swingers' events.
Fab: fabswingers.com is a website dedicated to finding other swingers in the community. There is a dedicated Ireland section and it has the feature of adding verifications to peoples accounts so you can tell if people are real based on their meetings with other swingers. Check out our profile here to see what it’s like.
PDI: Playa del Inglés is a beach resort in Maspalomas on the south coast of the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. A popular destination for Swingers.
NSA: No Strings attached – usually this means a couple having a physical relationship without an emotional connection
ASL: Age – Sex – Location – This usually is a way of asking someone to introduce themselves in a chat group.
NSFW: Not Suitable For Work – This refers to message content, normally a photo or graphic that is not suitable to be opened while at work!
Soft Swap: A form of swinging where couples engage in sexual activities, such as kissing, touching, or oral sex, with other couples but do not engage in penetrative intercourse.
Full Swap: A form of swinging where couples engage in sexual activities, including penetrative intercourse, with other couples.
Same Room: Refers to a preference where couples engage in sexual activities with their respective partners in the same room, creating a shared experience and allowing for observation.
Separate Room: Refers to a preference where couples engage in sexual activities with their chosen partners in separate rooms, adding an element of privacy and individual exploration.
Unicorn: A term commonly used to describe a single woman who is interested in engaging in sexual activities with couples. Unicorns are highly sought after in the swinging community.
Voyeurism: The act of observing others engaging in sexual activities, often without active participation. Voyeurism is a common interest within the swinging community.
The Boot Room
Emma’s Boots have been getting a lot of use recently to remove some people from our community. In Emma’s words, we want everyone there who wants to come along, but if you sign up to a party or get an invite, make sure you respond promptly and don’t ignore us. If you are unsure if you can come along then don’t book on until you are sure. It takes a lot of work to put each party together and there’s nothing worse than having to chase down people who didn’t intend to come or won’t respond to messages FFS!!
Some of our members have sent in some suggested links to some sites and videos to help couples, unicorns and single guys to navigate their journey in the swinging lifestyle. Below are some of those links:
